Peter Doig

Dear readers,

What a nice surprise. Reading Le Monde newspaper this morning, I discovered a very successful painter of my generation of which work is  beautiful in colors and composition. In addition it keeps changing and evolving. Obviously he is well appreciated among international museum and connoisseurs but I aknowledge that I did not know him. His paintings reflect his life experience between Scotland, England, Canada and Trinidad,

He has a current show at the National Gallery Scotland. You can see there some interesting links.

Enjoy

Hollywood Promenade in September

Dear readers,

Here is a small series of digital pictures taken on Hollywood Boulevard during September under a perfect blue sky and light. They are very graphic and depict a vintage sign of an old Pacific Theater that has been abandonned. It is right in the middle of the famous Hollywood Boulevard. More pictures will come step by step.

Enjoy,

Dear readers,

I just added two new pieces to this series. I am juggling between the impression of two different extreme experiences in weather and landscapes: The painting on Winter in Wisconsin and the digitals on Palm Spring in a heat wave.
See the rest on my website.

New series: Windmills in Palm Springs series

Dear reader,

I took several pictures of windmills in Palm Springs last September a day where it was pretty cloudy. These digital pieces have been brewing for a while. Now I am starting to release them step by step in a new small series called Windmills in Palm Spring series.

Four buildings

Dear readers,

This is the last picture of the digital series Lake Casitas in California near Ojai. These debris on the lake reminded me of the architectural organic shapes of Frank Gehry's building in a good way. Next week will be about Palm Springs windmills.

Enjoy!

Umbilical cord

Dear readers,

After Spring break, I am back to the Lake Casitas series where it is almost finished. The anchor of this floating boat reminded me of an umbilical cord. In addition, this rowing boat was reminiscent of several older ones that I saw in France last summer. What is your conclusion?

Christian Lacroix sketches

Dear readers,

There is an exhibition at the National Institute of Art History about Christian Lacroix costume sketches. It is always interesting to see their concepts in loose sketches before all the fine details gets defined.

Please see the slide show.
