What a nice surprise. Reading Le Monde newspaper this morning, I discovered a very successful painter of my generation of which work is  beautiful in colors and composition. In addition it keeps changing and evolving. Obviously he is well appreciated among international museum and connoisseurs but I aknowledge that I did not know him. His paintings reflect his life experience between Scotland, England, Canada and Trinidad,

He has a current show at the National Gallery Scotland. You can see there some interesting links.

Hollywood Promenade in September

       Here is a small series of digital pictures taken on Hollywood Boulevard during September under a perfect blue sky and light. They are very graphic and depict a vintage sign of an old Pacific Theater that has been abandonned. It is right in the middle of the famous Hollywood Boulevard. More pictures will come step by step.

New Winter in Wausau, Wisconsin series

Dear readers,

While juggling with bright colors with my digital artwork, I started to challenge myself by doing only white paintings using white and pearlescent acrylic paint. They will be an interpretation of our last winter spent in Wausau, WI, where it was one of the coldest on record. The scenery was quite inspiring. Here is the first finished artwork of tis new series. It will be displayed next week-end at the Barndall Park LA Municipal Art gallery.

Wanda Koop

Dear readers,

While showing downtown Los Angeles neighborhood to a close friend of one of my very good friends. This French woman living in Toronto made me discover one of her favorite painter who is established in Canada: Wanda Koop. 

I enjoyed learning more about Wanda Koop who is incredibly ethereal in her approach to painting. Something very fresh and Canadian signature was a treat to look at.

Trafalguar Square in London

Dear readers,

Some French icon in Trafalgar square not intentionally though. Trafalgar was a war won by Trafalgar over Napoleon in 1805.
This example shows that rotating sculpture in a public space such as the 4th plinth can be powerful. Great idea that needs to be applied everywhere if possible. I like the website of the Trafalgar square that calls for art, especially this visionary statement:

It's a bleak and impossible picture to imagine. Thankfully, London’s arts and cultural sector is a great success story.
